It has been a while since I made my last post, which stated that I was gonna post every week. Obviously I haven’t been keeping my promise, but now that school has kicked into high gear I no longer have a reason to be super lazy. A few weeks ago BLVD posted the top 25 of electro/house for 2011 and now I’m here to lay down some serious dubstep that rocked 2011 into the ground. For me, 2011 was huge in the development of my taste in music. I quickly transitioned from shitty hip-hop and rap to the amazing sounds of house, electro, and dubstep. Although I do thoroughly enjoy some good dance tunes, my love for dubstep far exceeds any other genre I have ever listened to. With the help of my friend who goes to school in Utah, my library of dubstep went from 25 songs to over 550 in one night. My ear for good dubstep has developed quite well and I consider myself a connoisseur of the bass. Having said that, I have compiled a list of 25 dubstep songs that rocked my ears the hardest during the year of 2011. There is no ranking to these songs because I believe that each song is amazing in its own way. To me, dubstep is an ever changing genre that somehow remains the same all at once. New artists arise to contribute their interpretaion of the genre, and because of that it is quickly evolving from a music genre to a musical movement. If you take a look at my post entitled “A Wide Dubriety” it is easy to see that dubstep can mimic every genre of music that has ever existed. So now I share with all of you the best of the best in the year of 2011, enjoy.
There you have it, the top 25 dubstep tunes of 2011 in accordance with my musical taste. Download the songs if you want, but the least you can do is give them a listen and I guarantee you’ll find your head slamming to the beat. Keep a look out for my saturday post (which I’m gonna stop forgetting to do). Make sure to build up a lot of stress this week, it makes for better partying on the weekends.
